New Principal at Pillsbury!

Jessica Skowronek

Dear Pillsbury Community,

I am pleased to announce Jessica Skowronek as the new principal of Pillsbury, effective July 1, 2018.

You are all familiar with Ms. Skowronek as you have had the benefit of her instructional experience and leadership at Pillsbury since she joined your school community in 2013. Ms. Skowronek joined Minneapolis Public Schools as an elementary educator in 1999 and has also served as a Special Education teacher and school administrator in our district. In addition, she served for several years as an adjunct professor at Concordia University in St. Paul with a focus on differentiated instruction to meet student needs.

Ms. Skowronek received her Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education and a Master’s degree in differentiated instruction from Concordia University in St. Paul. She also earned an Education Specialist degree in educational leadership and administration from the University of St. Thomas. 

In talking about her new role, Ms. Skowronek said she is excited to continue at Pillsbury. “Having had the opportunity to work with such a remarkable group of staff, students, and families at Pillsbury for the past five years has been an amazing experience,” she said. “We are a community built on the belief that all of our students have the opportunity to grow in many ways through the values of perseverance, relationships, integrity, diversity, and exploration. The students in our building inspire me each and every day. I am honored to be part of our school and am looking forward to continuing our journey together.”
